Holistic Kid is written by Emily Bartlett, It’s a blog about holistic health and wise nutrition for the whole family.

Emily grew up eating Pop Tarts and Cocoa Pebbles in Pennsylvania. She discovered vegetables in college, and gave up vegetarianism for a buffalo burger on a cross-country pilgrimage to California. When she was newly pregnant with her first child, Emily developed an aversion to all things processed and made her first bone broth. Now she can proudly say that she knows nearly all the farmers who grow her food.

As a busy mom of two, Emily is a ‘real food’ fanatic who prefers to make delicious meals that don’t demand tons of hands-on time in the kitchen. She loves carnitas and homemade ice-cream, and has recently found a deep fondness for oysters.

Emily practices acupuncture and holistic medicine in Los Angeles, CA and consults with patients around the world via Skype. After treating kids and adults with health issues (from eczema to autism, anxiety to infertility) either caused or exacerbated by poor diet, she began focusing more on nutritional counseling with patients and writing about food on her blog. Emily loves helping other families find their passion for real, nutrient-dense eating and believes that good food is, by far, your best medicine.
