Do you suggest keeping infants of breastmilk several times per day until 18 months? I plan on nursing until I can’t nurse any more but was planning on supplementing with raw milk at 12 months. I thought once we hit 12 months I’d transition to milk and only nurse in the morning and evenings (I work full time as soooo look forward to not pumping anymore, but I won’t stop if it will compromise her nutrition). thanks!
Hi Jacqueline- Every baby is different, and while breast milk is usually the best option for infants, breastfeeding is not a contest, and a baby will not necessarily be healthier just because he/she had breast milk for a long period of time. Once a healthy baby is well established on solids and thriving, it is fine to wean him/her. If she does well with raw milk, great! I completely get how you are feeling about the pump. I was so happy to ditch mine.
